Nasii Rivera Spence BSM, CPM-TN, LCPM

Nasii’s journey into birth work began in 2001 as a peer health educator and doula, long before she became a midwife. Through those early years supporting families, she developed a deep respect for physiologic birth and the importance of informed, compassionate care.

In 2009, she began teaching at the middle and high school levels. Her background in education continues to shape her approach to midwifery emphasizing clear communication, critical thinking, and ensuring families feel confident and informed in their decisions.

Nasii’s community health work has included organizing Black Breastfeeding Week events and participating in HIV outreach and education efforts. These experiences strengthened her commitment to health equity, education, and meeting families where they are.

She later pursued midwifery and became a Certified Professional Midwife licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky. Nasii has exclusively attended home births at this level supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with evidence-based, individualized care.

She also serves as board member for the Tennessee Midwives Association as well being a chair of a nonprofit organization that supports families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, bringing a trauma-informed lens and compassionate presence to her work.

Nasii lives in Clarksville and is honored to serve families as part of the Clarksville Midwifery team. Outside of birth work, she enjoys the gym, Zumba, reading, and learning new crafts.
